Job Description:
The VCCS invites applications for the position of Assistant Vice Chancellor for Institutional Effectiveness. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Services and Research, this position is the data leader for the System and has responsibility for the planning, evaluation, research, assessment, and reporting functions necessary to monitor progress in achieving the goals of the System's new strategic plan for the years 2010-15. The new strategic plan focuses on student success and aligning with Virginia's unmet needs. The Assistant Vice Chancellor help to build a culture of evidence and strategic information delivery while working with college leadership of the 23 community colleges to ensure that college-level strategic planning supports goal attainment. This position will assist the Vice Chancellor in working with the Chancellor's Cabinet to ensure that goals in all functional areas are met in a timely manner.

Requirements:
The successful candidate is required to have a minimum of a master's degree in a related field (doctorate preferred); experience providing oversight for one or more of the following: planning, program evaluation, institutional assessment, data warehousing, reporting, or research; strong organizational and technical skills; and experience in managing staff. Also required are demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods, data extraction, and data analysis techniques; demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling software; demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing, to work collaboratively as a team member, and to lead teams in achieving outcomes. Considerable experience in higher education at the Dean/Director level or higher in a college or system is preferred.


Additional Information:

This is an administrative faculty appointment with a salary range of $94,828-$125,743. Salary will be commensurate with education and work experience. For more information about Virginia's Community Colleges, visit www.vccs.edu.
