Job Description:
MECC is a comprehensive community college serving the residents of Lee, Scott, Wise, and Dickenson Counties and the City of Norton. The college was founded in 1972 and now has an annualized headcount enrollment of approximately 4,440 students and 1,932 FTEs during the 2008-09 academic year. Dual enrollment students comprised 21 percent of the headcount. MECC also has a close working relationship with the five public school systems and the 4-year college (UVA-Wise) located within the service region.
The operating budget is approximately $13 million, and its Educational Foundation has assets over $8 million. The college offers programs leading to the associate degree, certificate, and career studies certificate through the Arts & Sciences, Business & Information Technology, and Health Science & Industrial Technology divisions. The College delivers credit and non-credit course offerings through the Center for Workforce Development.

Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have an earned doctorate and demonstrated successful senior executive experience at the highest levels. Previous experience must include significant responsibility for programs, budgets, personnel, facilities and other appropriate administrative duties. An understanding of the mission and goals of a comprehensive community college in the 21st Century is essential. The candidate should have proven leadership abilities along with excellent communications skills, a clear commitment to instruction, a strong belief in a collaborative administrative style as well as a servant leadership perspective. The candidate must also have a broad vision for the College together with the skills and energy for implementation in addition to the demonstrated ability to work with business, industry, government and the community at large.

The salary range is $133,487-$173,521.
